Balayage, painted by hand. Balayage in Coquitlam, serving Metro Vancouver and the Tri-Cities, by Amy at Bloom Salon.
Dimensional, sun-kissed colour that grows out softly, with no hard lines and no every-six-weeks obligation.
Colour that lives well.
Balayage is colour painted freehand onto the hair, section by section, so the lightness sits exactly where the sun would put it. The result is depth at the root, brightness through the ends, and a grow-out so soft you choose when to come back, not your roots.
I have been painting balayage in Coquitlam for years, on every base from deep brunette to silver, for clients across the Tri-Cities and Metro Vancouver. Every placement is mapped to your cut, your face, and how much maintenance you actually want to sign up for.
Balayage, foilyage, or foils.
Balayage
Painted by hand for the softest, most natural graduation. Lowest maintenance, most lived-in.
Foilyage
Hand-painted placement with the extra lift of foils. More brightness, still a soft grow-out.
Foil highlights
Woven from the root for maximum, uniform brightness. The classic, and still right for many.

How long does a balayage appointment take?
Plan for two and a half to four hours depending on length, thickness, and how much lightening your hair needs. You will get a real time estimate at your consultation.
How often does balayage need to be redone?
Most clients refresh every three to five months. Because the root is a soft blend rather than a line, the grow-out looks intentional the whole way, and a quick toner or gloss in between keeps it bright.
What is the difference between balayage and foils?
Foils are woven from the root and lift more uniformly, which reads brighter but shows regrowth sooner. Balayage is painted by hand for a softer graduation. Foilyage and babylights sit in between, and the consultation is where we pick the right one for your hair.
Will balayage work on dark or previously coloured hair?
Usually yes, though previously coloured hair sometimes needs the work split over more than one visit to keep it healthy. Bring your hair history to the consultation and you will get an honest answer.
